About Spyderco
In 1976 Spyderco founded by Sal and Gail Glesser. Initially, the company focused on promoting and selling the well-known knife sharpening system called 'The Tri-Angle Sharpmaker'.
1981, Sal and Gail decided to settle in Golden, Colorado. There their first folding knife was born. The knife was equipped with the characteristic hole in the blade for one-handed opening, the Spyderhole™, and a clip to carry the knife stably in a pocket. The knife also had an option for a serrated blade. These features revolutionized the knife industry and are still used in modern knife designs.
Spyderco slowly but surely became one of the leaders in the knife industry. Both the sharpening systems and the knives are extremely popular worldwide with collectors and users. The unique collaborations with famous knife makers, the 'sprint truns' and H1 steel knives add an extra touch.
